PSC 216 - Environmental Politics & Policymaking Course unit(s): 1 Meets GAR: Meets general academic requirement SL. A study of recent and contemporary U.S. environmental policy and its formulation. The course examines the political and institutional settings and constraints on the formulation of environmental policy, including the role of the President, Congress, the courts, bureaucracy, state governments, and interest groups. Attention will also be given to theoretical issues as they arise out of, and influence, the policy making process. In addition, the course will examine the interaction of global environmental problems and domestic policy making.
