Major Requirements

Majors will complete a minimum of nine courses including the following:

COM 201 - Media & Society Course unit(s): 1
COM 231 - Documentary Research Course unit(s): 1
COM 301 - Media Theory & Methods Course unit(s): 1
Five electives within the major, including at least one course from each of the three distribution areas: Discovery, Structure, Practice. (201, 231, 301, and the CUE do not count towards the distribution requirement in the major. They should normally be taken in sequential semesters, with 201 and 301 completed by the end of the sophomore year.) At least two of these electives must be numbered 300 or above.

Culminating Undergraduate Experience (CUE)

All majors must fulfill the Media and Communication CUE requirement in the senior year.

Note:

COM 201 - Media & Society will normally be completed prior to fulfilling additional major requirements. The three required courses and the CUE do not count towards fulfillment of distribution requirements in the major.
