SPN 322 - Civilizations of Latin America Course unit(s): 1 Meets GAR: Meets general academic requirement DE and HU. Prerequisite(s): SPN 301 - Spanish Conversation & Composition or SPN 303 Spanish for Heritage Speakers II . An introduction to contemporary Latin American life with its intellectual, economic, and social phenomena as well as its regional aspects, highlighting factors that unite and that distinguish this area of the world. The course also surveys the artistic, architectural, and historical heritage of Latin America; addresses the challenges of globalization; and considers the political and economic role of the United States. Class is conducted in Spanish. Offered every year during the spring semester.
