BIO 270 - Ecology Course unit(s): 1 Prerequisite(s): BIO 165 From Ecosystems to Organisms . Ecology is the study of the interactions between organisms and their environment at the individual, community, and ecosystem levels of organization. Both terrestrial and aquatic ecology, utilizing both plant and animal systems, are discussed. A major emphasis of the course, especially in the laboratory work, is experimental design and interpretation, including statistical analyses. Most of the weekly laboratories are conducted outside.
