ENG 340, 341 - European Novel in Translation

1 course unit
A study in the development of the modern European novel that ranges from the groundbreaking work of such nineteenth-century writers as Balzac, and Flaubert, to the later formal experiments of twentieth century authors like Kafka, Duras, and Kundera.  Texts in question are assembled arond the unifying focus of “parables of authority and desire.”
