An exploration of the key concepts and principles of how drugs and brain chemistry affect behavior. Topics will include basic pharmacology, research methods, states of consciousness, reinforcement and addiction, treatment of psychological disorders, and sociocultural influences and implications of pharmacotherapy and addiction. Prerequisite(s): PSY 101 - Introductory Psychology, PSY 215 - Biological Psychology or BIO 151 - Principles of Biology II: Cells & Organisms, and one additional psychology course or permission of instructor.
