BIO 412 - CUE: Molecular Biology1 course unit A topical course investigating the techniques and applications of recombinant DNA, with a focus on their application to cancer research. This course provides a detailed treatment of recombinant DNA methodologies, including gene cloning strategies and analytical molecular techniques. Topics covered include gene regulation, genomics, and the molecular mechanisms of cancer, viewed through an historical lens. Discussions and writing assignments focus on the analysis of the classic and contemporary primary literature and the relationship between biomedical research and society. Three class hours per week.
