MUS 111 - Music Theory I1 course unit The foundational course in music theory introduces the materials and structural elements of tonal music: scales, key signatures, intervals, chords, rhythm and meter, and the principles of voice-leading and harmonic progression. Students will develop conceptual, aural, and keyboard skills; incorporate those skills into listening and analysis; and connect the concepts of music theory with interpretation and performance. Prerequisite(s): Ability to read music is assumed. Meets general academic requirement AR.
