1 course unit An introduction to basic grammar and vocabulary as well as communication skills in Arabic within its cultural contexts. Students will use a variety of authentic text and media resources to acquire and enhance linguistic skills. The first semester is designed for students with no knowledge of or with a weak background in Arabic. The second semester is for students with limited previous exposure to Arabic. Assignment by placement test. Four class hours per week plus Language Learning Center assignments.
