BUS 233 - Operations & Information Systems1 course unit The course introduces students to the operations function and to related information systems issues. Students will explore concepts (along with quantitative and qualitative decision methodologies) in supply chain management, manufacturing and service processes, lean production, quality, aggregate planning, inventory management, forecasting, capacity management, and global sourcing. The role of information technology, sustainability, and ethical analysis is integrated throughout the course. Prerequisite(s): ACT 101 Financial Accounting , ECN 101 Principles of Macroeconomics , ECN 102 Principles of Microeconomics , and MTH 119 Statistical Analysis or MTH 331 Mathematical Statistics I and MTH 332 Mathematical Statistics II ; or INE 201 Business Plan Development .
