BUS 239 - Marketing1 course unit This course introduces students to the principles of marketing within the context of a dynamic business environment and expands upon the concept of marketing as a value creating function. Students will learn marketing theories and examine the methods marketers use to provide value to customers, business enterprises, non-profit organizations, and society in an ethical and socially responsible manner. Ethical decision-making is emphasized. Specific topics include strategic planning, marketing research, consumer behavior, targeting, segmentation, product development, distribution, pricing, and advertising/promotion. Prerequisite(s): ACT 101 Financial Accounting , ECN 101 Principles of Macroeconomics , ECN 102 Principles of Microeconomics , and MTH 119 Statistical Analysis or MTH 331 Mathematical Statistics I and MTH 332 Mathematical Statistics II ; or INE 201 Business Plan Development .
