Minor Requirements
The Creative Writing Minor is directed and administered by the Chair of the English Department, and students are advised by full-time creative writing faculty. Students may major in English and minor in Creative Writing and are permitted to double-count specific courses toward fulfillment of the requirements in both programs. Introductory Courses in Writing:
At least two courses, each one in a different genre: Note:
Other 200 level Special Topic writing courses might also substitute for the Introductory Courses in Writing requirement. Advanced Writing Courses:
At least two courses from the following list: Additional Course:
- One additional course of their choice from Introductory or Advanced writing courses listed above.
Literature:
- At least one 300 level or higher literature course offered in the English or Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Departments, or ENG 293 - Living Writers 1 course unit
