PSC 341, 342 - American Foreign Policy1 course unit A study of the evolving nature of the formulation and conduct of American foreign policy, including the impact of an emerging international civil society on the policy formulation process since World War II. The course will emphasize contemporary issues, such as North-South relations, defense, humanitarian intervention and disarmament, international trade, as well as emerging issues, such as international resource management, pandemic disease control, and transnational organized crime. Prerequisite(s): PSC 103 Introduction to Comparative Politics & International Relations or IST 101 Introduction to International Studies . Meets general academic requirement W when offered as 342.
