1 course unit Designed as an introductory course for students majoring in the physical or biological sciences. Topics covered include atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, gases, thermochemistry, and types of reactions. Three hours of lecture, one hour of recitation, and one three hour laboratory per week. Prerequisite(s):High School chemistry. Meets general academic requirement SC.
