In Mixed Media Drawing, students will learn drawing fundamentals alongside developing creative expression through mixed media. Students will be introduced to mixed media techniques to provide a playful and creative approach to creating art on paper. Mixed media might include: color pencil, watercolor, collage/printmaking, and photo transfer. The specific choice of materials will be determined by the instructor. The course will introduce students to the creative use of a personal sketchbook and to contemporary artists who create a wide range of work on paper. This course is designed as a broad introduction to studio art with a focus on drawing. No prior experience in art is needed. This course also prepares studio majors and minors for upper level studio courses in a range of areas.
