ARS 305 - Junior Studio Seminar: Exhibition Preparation and Curation Course unit(s): 1 Prerequisite or corequisite: Any 200-level Studio Art course Working in any medium or combination of media, students develop an independent body of work. The focus of the course is on conceptual development and visual exploration through developing a body of work. This course meets together with students enrolled in ARS 405 Senior Studio Seminar: Thesis Exhibition . Juniors and seniors will work alongside one another and engage in class discussion and group critiques, which will form the basis for evaluation. In addition, junior students will help prepare the Senior Thesis Art Exhibition in the Martin Art Gallery. Students in this class will assist the graduating seniors with curation, promotion, preparation for hanging, installation and lighting. This course prepares studio art majors for junior review, senior year expectations and professional art promotion. It provides minors with an opportunity to develop an independent body of work and be introduced to professional practice relevant to creative fields.
