PBH 200, 201 - Issues in Public Health

Using a topical approach, this course is designed to introduce students to the wide variety of disciplines associated with the field of public health. The course will highlight the social and structural determinants of health, examining these factors through historical, biological, economic, psychological, and political lenses. Students will learn to apply the public health problem-solving paradigm and examine key principles of epidemiological research, while investigating the complex relationship between research, policy, and communication in maintaining the health and safety of the public.
