BUS 101 - Business and Society Course unit(s): 1 Meets GAR (students beginning prior to Fall 2024): Meets general academic requirement SL. This course introduces students to the role of commercial enterprise in society. Business organizations exert powerful social, economic and political forces in a constantly changing environment. This course will evaluate the positive and negative effects these forces have on individuals, groups, and social institutions. Students will gain broad familiarity with core functions of business (accounting, finance, marketing, management, operations and supply chains and human resources). Students will also learn and practice key skills of research, critical analysis, spreadsheet use, and business communication encompassing both writing and presenting.
