Meets requirement: W when offered as 376 This course examines race, ethnicity, and gender in pre-colonial, colonial, and contemporary Latin America and the Caribbean. Major themes include: resistance to European constructions of gender, race, and ethnicity; forms of labor and their relationships to these constructions; eugenics and scientific racism; and contemporary lived experiences in modern and revolutionary Latin America and the Caribbean.
