Study of the immune system and its role in maintaining the physiological integrity of multicellular organisms against infection, malignancy, and transplantation. Specifically, the following concepts are studied: structure and function of antibodies and antigens, biology of lymphocytes and their interaction, immunoregulation, and immunopathology. Three class hours per week.
