SUS 405 - Sustainable Solutions Course unit(s): 1 Meets requirement: W Prerequisite(s): Any three courses in the Sustainability Studies Major or Minor. An integrative & project-based approach to developing sustainable solutions to meet the needs of human society by integrating environmental, economic, and social justice issues on local, regional, and global scales. Through lecture & discussion, readings, writing, presentations, and digital research and dissemination, students will identify and explore place-based sustainability problems and their potential solutions in order to advance sustainability objectives for a specific location. This will be achieved through systems thinking, stakeholder identification, problem analysis, asset mapping, and identifying barriers to solutions for each of the major themes addressed in the readings and in class. Students will post all of their written work on their own web domain as part of the Berg Builds Program.
