1 course unit A survey of Hebrew literature from the post-biblical era of the second century B.C.E. to the period of emergent modernism in the seventeenth century C.E. Readings embrace the genres of prose fiction, drama, and selections from the Talmud and medieval and religious prose, poetry, and prayers.
