ENG 349, 350 - Modern American Fiction1 course unit A study of representative fiction published in the United States between the World Wars. Texts may include Anderson’s Winesburg, Ohio; Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises; Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby; Faulkner’s Light in August or The Sound and the Fury; Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God; Richard Wright’s Native Son and Djuna Barnes’ Nightwood, along with selected short stories by these and other writers.
