MAA 610 - Introduction to Cloud ComputingCourse unit(s): 1This course on cloud computing and the concepts of "Big Data" is an introduction to the concepts underlying the systems and infrastructure required to manage large data sets. As organizations across many industries seek to house and analyze large amounts of data quickly and accurately, it will be important for the student to learn and understand the need to manage data methodically even when the data are from disparate sources and types. The student will learn about current technological tools and applications. The student will also learn aspects of data and server management, virtualization, and standard data solutions offered by Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and IBM. Students will have hands-on experience with tools such as SQL, NoSQL, and Hadoop. |
