PHL 331, 336 - Epistemology

1 course unit
An exploration of the nature, scope, and sources of human knowledge.  Associated concepts of evidence, rationality, warrant are also investigated.  Although some attention will be paid to the views of historical figures, the focus of the course will be on contemporary issues.  Topics may include skepticism, the analysis of knowledge, theories about the nature and structure of justification, a prior knowledge, feminist theories of knowledge, social epistemology, and Bayesian confirmation theory.
Prerequisite(s): Any previous course in philosophy.
