1 course unit Designed as an introductory course for students majoring in the physical or biological sciences. Topics covered include: atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, gases, thermochemistry, and types of reactions. Three hours of lecture, one hour of recitation, and one three hour laboratory per week. Prerequisite(s):High School chemistry. Meets general academic requirement SC.
